Ecrebo is a technology company that enables the real time, cost-effective delivery of personalized offers and messages at point of sale on paper and digital receipts. Our patented, light-touch, software-only, OnPoint Total Receipt Marketing® solution works with all Toshiba 4690, Windows and Linux-based POS systems and makes use of retailers’ existing receipt printers. Ecrebo turns receipts into precisely targeted, high-ROI marketing.
Founded in 2010 by Dr. Hassan Hajji and David Vernon, Ecrebo sought to transform point of sale (POS) from a place where customers pay into an effective in-store marketing channel. The two founders strongly believed in marketing at POS because: 1) every customer goes through checkout; and, 2) the POS system is the gateway not only to what customers purchase, but also to what they’ve purchased in the past. The founders correctly reasoned that POS was the ideal place – really, the only place – to cost-effectively reach every customer with highly personalized marketing. But, they were also keenly aware that retailers are leery of any technology that can potentially interfere with POS. This led to the development of the novel – and now patented – OnPoint Total Receipt Marketing® solution. Using a software-only approach, and leveraging retailers’ existing receipt printers, OnPoint TRM® is built to never endanger the smooth operation of POS. And, because the OnPoint solution is POS agnostic – because it works with all Toshiba 4690, Windows and Linux-based POS systems – Ecrebo is well positioned to serve major retailers throughout the world. In the years since 2010, Ecrebo’s OnPoint solution has been installed at leading supermarket and specialty retailers in Europe and North America, including Albertsons, the second largest supermarket in the US. Retailers now count on Ecrebo to issue well over 1 million – and rapidly growing – personalized, high-ROI offers on paper and digital receipts daily. Sir Keith Mills, the founder of Air Miles and Nectar, and Joseph Schull, Former Head of Europe for Warburg Pincus, are among Ecrebo’s backers.
